A seminar (organized by Ichinoseki City) reporting on the recent activities to invite the International Linear Collider (ILC) research facility to the Kitakami Mountains (Kitakami Highlands) of Iwate Prefecture will be held at Bellino Hotel on the 21st of June from 2pm. Citizens will be informed on domestic and international movements and the situation of the Tohoku ILC Promotion Council by three experts.  

Member of the Tohoku ILC Preparatory Office and President of Iwate Prefectural University, Atsuto Suzuki will present on the countdown to the ILC’s realization and will explain domestic and international issues. Mr. Atsushi Sasaki, Deputy Director of the Prefectural Science ILC Promotion Office will explain the role of the region anticipating the ILC and present on the ‘ILC Tohoku Master Plan’ summarized by the ILC Preparatory Office. Honorary Professor Masakazu Yoshioka of the Institute of High Energy Accelerator Research (KEK) in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture will explore the possibilities for Tohoku’s industries.    

Junko Onodera, Manager of Ichinoseki City ILC Promotion Division said “I want the citizens and the city’s economic officials to learn about the current situation. It’s my hope that the ILC will be a catalyst for strengthening momentum and entry into related industries”.
